The RSPB kindly provided a tour of their Radipole Reserve for Garden Club members on 20th June. This was a very interesting opportunity for members, who enjoyed sightings of a Marsh Harrier, kingfisher ( both nesting on the reserve) and numerous other species. In addition they were also shown a rare Bee Orchid, the plain brown-lipped variety, which had previously been recorded only in Sussex.
On 13th July the members evening was attended by ;a small number of people who enjoyed delicious nibbles and wine. The show secretary, Sue Whalley, handed out the entry forms for the Annual Show which are due to be returned to Margaret Keogh by 12th August. For each item entered there will be a charge of 25pence towards show costs. The Annual Show will be held on Saturday 20th August, anyone wishing to exhibit can obtain entry forms from Mrs. Keogh (01929 400423)
Flower of the Month Competition was won by Pat Inglis.
