Jobs for June

Keep sowing a few salad seeds every 3 to 4 weeks.
Plant out tomatoes and cucumbers, suitable for outside cultivation, after hardening off.
Hang up pheromone traps in apple trees to trap codling moths.
Look out for aphids and caterpillars.  Remove by hand or hose off, especially blackfly on broad beans.
The incidence of black fly on broad beans can be lessened by pinching out the growth tops of plants once some flowers have started to set.
