Our speaker for February was Mrs Ruth Binney whose talk was entitled "Extraordinary Facts about the English Countryside".
Her
talk was devised around an A-Z of sites and features of the English
countryside which she had discovered whilst carrying out research for
her book which has been published under the same name as her talk. She
kindly donated a copy of the book for the Raffle whilst others were
available for members to buy on the night. This was an interesting talk
with many fascinating facts, for example, the Easter Bunny was
originally a Hare!
Flower of the month comnpetition - was won by Jan Ravensdalewith a helleborus.
